Our English tutors provide one-to-one tuition for children and adults of all ages who would like additional help with English.
The core of the curriculum
English is one of the core subjects that will remain compulsory for all school children, regardless of changes to the National Curriculum. Whatever children aspire to become, our English home tutors can help pupils to gain a solid understanding of the English language and the communication skills that will help them in every career.
English for life
Our English tutors can develop and improve a pupil’s proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening. These communication skills are important not just for school and work, but for every aspect of daily life. By providing English tuition in an enjoyable, non-stressful and supportive environment, our English home tutors aim to help their pupils develop these crucial communication skills and succeed at exams while also inspiring an appreciation of the English language that can remain a source of enjoyment for the pupil’s whole life.
Opening up the world of literature
Schools teach English literature with the hope of teaching pupils to become enthusiastic and critical readers of stories, poetry and drama as well as non-fiction and media texts. Studying English Literature enables pupils to learn about the great traditions of English literature and about how modern writers see the world today. When students are frustrated or not fully engaged by classroom teaching, the individual approach a private tutor provides can help the pupil to connect with English literature and succeed in GCSE English and English Literature, and enjoy books for life.
Learn more at home
Home-School Tutoring’s home tutors will visit pupils in their own home or students can attend the English tutor’s home or another agreed location. Wherever the learning takes place, our home tutors will strive to provide effective and engaging one-to-one tuition that will allow pupils to build confidence and develop at a pace with which they are comfortable.
