Home-School Tutoring is pleased to provide private English language tutoring for speakers of other languages (ESOL/ EFL), whether they are school age, in college or university, or adults.
English for everyone
English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) is the term now most commonly used in the UK for English language tuition for non-native speakers; however a number of other terms are also used, including English language teaching (ELT), tutoring in English as a foreign language (EFL), English as a second language (ESL) and English as an additional language (EAL).
Home-School Tutoring’s English language home tutors are passionate about teaching the English language and are all suitably qualified for ESOL teaching, having achieved high levels in English and a certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages (CELTA) or other suitable qualifications. Students are welcome in the English language tutor’s home or our home tutors are happy to visit students in their own home, accommodation or other suitable locations.
Patient private tuition
Our ESOL/ELT home tutors are committed to delivering quality private one-to-one that is patient, practical and supportive, and that enables students to enjoy learning English, building confidence and making steady progress at their own pace. Our English language tutors have helped students of all ages from all over the word to master the English language and become confident and fluent communicators.
Exam preparation
Home-School Tutoring has also helped many students prepare for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam as well as the tests for the Cambridge English: First, also known as the First Certificate in English (FCE); the Cambridge English: Advanced, also known as the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE); and other ESOL certificates.
Tailored tuition
Our English language tutors tailor their teaching to each student’s individual needs and requirements, focusing on the English language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) that students would like to work on.
The content of each lesson is determined by what the student would like to use English for – e.g. for school work or academic study, IELTS/FCE/CAE or other ESOL exam preparation, business or work purposes, or social and leisure activities. Students benefit from engaging in dialogue and role-playing activities with their ESOL tutor, as well as learning from various other exercises, games and materials.
