Tailored tuition
Our local tutors will tailor Spanish lessons to your individual needs so you can learn at your own pace and in your own time. Or, if you prefer, rather than learn on your own, you may like to learn Spanish with another friend or two, or as a family.
We have native fluent Spanish-speaking tutors as well as English tutors who have studied Spanish at degree level and speak Spanish fluently. We will be pleased to recommend a suitable tutor to you in your local Area.
Spanish lessons can be in your own home, in the home of the tutor or at some other venue which is mutually agreed. Fees for the lessons will be quoted and times can be arranged with a tutor once we know of your requirements.
All Tutors registered with Home-School Tutoring have been DBS checked and an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate has been obtained. We also have confirmation of qualifications and personal references for all our tutors.
Why learn the Spanish language?
Our tutors give a number of reasons to learn Spanish.
Firstly, if you are new to languages, Spanish is a good one with which to start. Spanish is from the Romance family of languages and its roots are primarily from Latin. Many of our own English words are derived from the same roots, which is helpful in learning Spanish and also helpful in enhancing our English language skills and understanding.
A widely spoken language
Spanish is spoken currently by an estimated 350 million people around the world and is placed as the fourth most commonly spoken language. We meet Spanish-speaking people in this country, in Europe generally, and in many countries when we travel.
Besides Spain itself, Spanish is the dominant language in Peru, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, the Philippines, Columbia, Honduras, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama, Bolivia and Paraguay – and that list is not exhaustive. Knowing the language and being able to communicate with those we meet gives an added dimension to any travel experience besides deeper insight into Spanish and Hispanic culture.
Even if we only have a basic proficiency in language, we improve ourselves and our skills, and our friendship and employment possibilities.
